Thiago’s disgruntled walk down the tunnel in Liverpool’s final Premier League game against Wolves said a lot in just an expression. This unfair injury meant the Spaniard would not play a part in the Champions League final against the Los Blancos, Real Madrid in Paris.

Prior to the final game against Wolves, the Reds had faced a major setback in the middle of the park with an injury to Fabinho, but Thiago’s injury was different. Unlike Fabinho, Thiago is the creative juice in the midfield and with him out of the big game against Madrid, all eyes turned to the Guinean, Naby Keita.

Naby’s time at Liverpool has really not been as flourishing when placed in comparison with what he did in RB Leipzig and certain fans of the club have not shelled in airing their view on the midfielder. Jamie Carragher a former Liverpool defender described Keita as one of “the strangest players” he had ever seen. Judging by his implausible performances during games for the Reds.

This obviously was not the case in Paris, as the world saw what Naby Keita could do with the ball at his feet. In a midfield parading the likes of Casimero, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, all eyes was fixated on Naby’s magical feet.

Liverpool won their seventh UEFA Champions League Trophy in Paris and Naby’s performance on the night is something that will forever stay in the minds of the Merseyside fans, as the Guinean who stepped up under the Parisian light.
