Parading the likes of 2021 world best player of the year – Alexia Putellas, Dutch’s jewel like Martens, Jennifer Hermoso, Caroline Graham and Nigerian’s Miss dependable Asisat Oshoala.
Although Asisat had a thigh injury which saw her miss out on the game for two months, she still clinched the Pichichi award with 20 goals in 30 games closely followed by her teammates Martens and Putellas who both shared 17 goals in the campaign. This goes to show the mentality of the team.
Oshoala will match her team out against a very familiar foe, Lyon, a side who defeated them in 2019 sending them back to the drawing board. This Barcelona side appear to be more matured and heavily fortified to dispossess any attack from the French Champions.
